Prepare for the Laos trip

I bought the ticket to Vang Vieng and it costs 950k VND, which is relatively high compared to a discounted flight to Bangkok, not mentioned that I need to spend a whole day on the bus and it will be tiring. To get to the Nuoc Ngam bus station at 6:00 PM, I have to go home early at 4:00 PM and then take a BRT bus and then a grab bike. If that takes me too long, then I will take the grab bike only, it might cost me 30k VND more but I don't have to wait for the bus. Things I need to prepare:

1. Passport
2. Money
3. Food: a big bottle of water and some snacks, cakes
4. Toilet paper
5. Clothes
6. And other stuffs like phone, lens,...

I got a initerary from Hang Dinh and I will find out if it has something I am looking for.

Booking ticket to Vang Vieng

The initerary is still has some details that need to be updated. I tried to book ticket to Vang Vieng but I couldn't call the bus, so maybe I'll try again tomorrow. Meanwhile I booked a bed in an eight-bed dorm in Vang Vieng so at least I will have a place to sleep when I arrive there. The bed costs me only 247k VND for two nights and that's acceptable price. I think I will book a bed in Vientine later when I am in Vang Vieng, so that the time could be more flexible. I will spend a million VND per day for food and sight seeing, and the number could be changed if there is a special thing out there. For example, I really want to take a balloons ride which costs me $90 (maybe $80 if I could negotiate in some way). So it is a whole two days budget just for one ride, but it worth the try and it's relatively cheaper than other places. The rooms would cost me 500k VND more, and I basically spend 2 millions VND on bus tickets and beds. The food takes me one million more, so if I take the balloons ride, then I have to prepare about six millions in total.

Laos trip initerary

I will go to Laos next Thursday and I need to make plan quick. I will get some Kips today and will have a small bag in several days. There is the need to bring clothes and money for my trip. I also have to book the tickets and rooms in advance. I mainly used tripadvisor for getting information of places I want to go and I got a saved list of places to visit in Vang Vieng and Vientine.

First, I will be in Vang Vieng at about 6 PM, then go to Vang Vieng Homestay at 6:30.

Day 1 - Friday

Go around the town and have dinner at Viman Vang Vieng
Feel so tired so go to bed and dream for the next day

Day 2 - Saturday

I need to do something fun, to not waste my time here. So I consider a climbing school, a bike school, or a balloons ride. The balloons one is a bit expensive (80-90$)

The night comes, and there are some nice bars to hang around.

Day 3 - Sunday

Check out the hostel at 10 AM
head to Vientine
Get a bed
Go around the city

Day 4 - Monday

Still go around
Get a bus to HN at 17:00
