Today I met Ivan, a guy from Ecuador, who is travelling across the SE Asia. We talked a lot. We share so much interests especially technology. He is such a great guy, a true geek having great passion with technology. Having worked as a programmer before, mainly with web and software development, Ivan is now pursuing Master degree in CS in Australia. He wonderfully got a one hundred percent scholarship of Ecuador government. He is focusing on distributed computing and using Perl language as the tool for data querying in back-end programming. I am so interested in what he has been doing. He such a talented guy and has so much motivation in coding. He joined IEEE and gets its magazine with him.
He also showed me his country's foods which include something like plantain (kind of banana, I think). Plantain can be cooked to many dishes and he like them so much.
Ivan lives in a city in Ecuador, he lets me see some pics of his hometown. It's a nice place and I would like to visit someday. He recommended me some countries that I should visit when I would have chance to go to South America. Bolivia, Peru, Galapagos island are some nice places like that.
We were having coffee when we talked about those things. It's was so nice. Then we went to the Old Quarter for some food, as he had to come back to the travel agency. We had a small pizza and a couple of Pepsi. We discussed about the development board and some projects that he had implemented with the board.
I was so amazed with his work and his passion and really want to meet him again, someday...
